The SafElert's "Door Open" / "Door Closed" alerts use light to determine whether the safe door is opened or closed. In order to receive a Door Open/Close alert there needs to be a definite change between light and dark.
Problem
Some have reported receiving false Door Open/Closed alerts because the safe door was not opened. One cause of this is if you have lights installed within in your safe temporarily coming on by themselves. This has happened with the motion activated lights that come on when the safe door is open.
Solution
To solve this issue try switching your motion activated lights to "Manual."
