Before you begin you will need:
- Your Elertus/Liberty SafElert Sensor and included AA batteries
- A computer, smartphone or tablet with Wi-Fi capability
- A flat-head screwdriver
- Your Wi-Fi network name and password
1
Install the batteries into your Elertus/SafElert Sensor, and wait for the LED light to turn solid RED.
TIP: A slot on the left side of the Elertus/SafElert Sensor enables you to pry the case open using a flat-head screwdriver.
2
Press and hold the little, white button on the front of your Elertus/SafElert Sensor until the LED light flashes YELLOW.
TIP: You may need to hold the button down for up to 15 seconds. The LED may blink other colors before it begins flashing YELLOW.
3
When the LED light on your Elertus/SafElert Sensor is flashing YELLOW it is in a special setup mode. You can connect to it just like you would your home or business Wi-Fi network.
Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer, smartphone or tablet, then continue.
4
Go to the wireless (Wi-Fi) settings of your computer, smartphone or tablet.
Search for available wireless networks and connect to the Wi-Fi network named Elertus.
The Elertus Wi-Fi network cannot provide an internet connection, but will provide access to the Elertus/SafElert setup web page.
TIP: If you are doing the setup on a smartphone, you may need to disable cellular data on your phone for the duration of the setup process.
5
Open an internet browser on your computer, smartphone or tablet.
TIP: It may show you an error indicating that you do not have an internet connection. This is normal.
In the address bar type: 10.5.5.2 and press Enter or Go.
6
Your browser will now load a special Elertus or SafElert Setup Web Page depending on your Sensor.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your Elertus/SafElert Sensor setup.
